Since 1999 Prof. Huebner teaches at the University of Applied Science, Stuttgart Media University "Hochschule der Medien" (HdM) in Stuttgart, Germany.
From 2004 till 2014 he was the leader of the HdM study program “Print and Media Technology”. Besides the entire printing technologies and printing processes his specialties in teaching are digital, screen and functional printing. 
In 2006 the Institute for Applied Research (Institut für angewandte Forschung – IAF) was founded at the HdM. He took over the leadership of the IAF which is an umbrella organization over meanwhile about 30 research groups within the HdM. His own research group is called “Institute for Innovative Applications of the Printing Technologies” (IAD) and mainly deals with functional and fine line printing. Recent successful developments are printed antennae for automotive applications and screen printing of rechargeable batteries.
Before joining the HdM he worked for about 11 years with the companies AGFA Gevaert AG and DuPont de Nemours as a research and process engineer or system specialist, thus, combining mechanical and process expertise with a well-grounded knowledge in information technologies.
With his PhD-thesis about numerical simulation of ink-splitting processes in printing he 1991 obtained the Dr.-Ing.-title at the Technical University, Darmstadt, the place where he had passed his diploma in mechanical engineering, before.

Roza ALTIN

Roza Altın, has been the Packaging Development director, at Yıldız Holding since 2012. In her role, she is responsible to lead the team who are working on packaging development projects, for various companies and categories. By begining of 2015, she has been given the responsibility to define the mid and long term packaging road-map for Yıldız Holding, within Global Innovation Function. Prior to Yıldız Holding, for 13 years, Roza held packaging development manager positions, for home, personal care and foods categories at Unilever, Turkey. Before starting her packaging development carrier, she fulfilled mechanical design engineer roles at different companies. Roza, has Bs. And M. Sc. degrees, from Middle East Technical University, Aeronautical Engineering Department. She is the author of many pack design registrations. She served as a jury member in DuPont’s Grand Prix Cyrel Award (award for world’s best flexo printing) in 2006 and DuPont’s Packaging Awards  in 2015.

Explanation of the title:
This presentation will focus on the economic situation of the German Printing Industry. Furthermore it will give an overview of challenges posed by political and economic developments. The speaker will try to answer the question as to how the German printing associations can support their members. In addition to that he will present an outlook on drupa 2016 and how this leading trade show will develop in the future.

52-years old Dr. Paul Albert Deimel was in born in Goslar, North Germany. In 2010 he became CEO of the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm), which is the head organisation of the German printing industry. Before joining the bvdm he had been working as a lawyer and held various positions at banks for sixteen years. Dr. Deimel studied law at the universities of Freiburg and Göttingen and graduated with a PhD. He is also a fully-qualified bank accountant and obtained a diploma in banking administration. Dr. Deimel is an authorised attorney at law and a member of the Berlin chamber of lawyers. Dr. Deimel represents the bvdm at the European federation of printing associations Intergraf and at FESPA, which is the Federation of European Screen Printing Associations.

Mr. Elie Khoury

"What's new in the latest update of ISO 12647 printing standards"

Explanation of the title:
ISO 12647-2 (commercial offset),  ISO 12647-3 (newspaper coldset), and ISO 12647-6 (Flexo) are process control standards that printers have been using since almost 2 decades.
These 3 standards recently underwent a major revision. The presentation will explain what changed in these printing standards, the new requirements of the 2013 revision for print buyers as well as for printers, and how they interact with the new ISO 15339 and ISO 16761 standards.

Elie Khoury received a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in 1984 and 1992 respectively.
In 1996 Elie began working on ICC and ColorSync™ based color management as a consultant to Apple Europe.
In 1997 he founded Alwan Color Expertise which became a driving force in color management and standardization services and software.
In 1998 Elie began his involvement with ISO standards and was among the first print experts to implement ISO 12647 in global Publishing and Printing groups.
In 2007 Elie founded KEE Consultants, an international network of consultants whose objectives are to promote, contribute to the development and to the implementation of the Graphic Arts Industry Standards.
During the past two decades, Elie has been a leading visionary and tireless advocate of the use of international standards to introduce state-of-the-art industrial practices into printing.
Elie is the French National Representative to ISO/TC 130, the International Standards Organization’s Technical Committee for the Graphic Arts, and is actively involved in shaping several new ISO standards.
