With Industry 4.0, the integration of digital technologies into manufacturing and automation processes has paved the way for the emergence of smart factories supported by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Printing technologies have also been affected by this transformation; a continuous renewal and development process has begun in the sector. In today's world where sustainable technologies and environmentally friendly products have gained importance, many innovations such as hybrid systems, e-inks, environmentally sensitive printing materials, digital printing techniques and printed electronic materials have emerged. In this context, the 5th International Printing Technologies Symposium aims to address the transformation of the printing industry in the 21st century within a scientific framework, where Industry 5.0 is on the agenda.

According to Smithers’ research, the packaging sector will account for approximately two-thirds of the global printing market by 2030. Türkiye’s packaging exports in 2023 were realized as 6 billion 856 million dollars; the sector had a foreign trade surplus of 2 billion 257 million dollars. Turkey is the fifth largest market in Europe in the cardboard packaging sector. This data reveals that our country is a strong actor on a global scale in the field of printing technologies and production. It is aimed that the information and experience sharing to be realized within the scope of the symposium will contribute to this growth process. The symposium will provide an interactive environment where universities and other educational institutions, printing sector businesses, relevant public institutions, supporting industry branches and sectoral civil society organizations will come together to share innovations, seek solutions to problems and develop joint projects. We believe that your participation will contribute to the success of the symposium; we hope that the results will produce valuable outputs in terms of academic and sectoral aspects.
